Summer Solstice-Clonard Thomas Watercolor West XXXV

The symbols in my paintings pay homage to our greatest star- the sun that sustains life, by providing light, warmth and power to the planet Earth. I paint landscapes and abstracts to express emotion through light, pattern, and design in a panorama of radiant color. Thinking about recent work motivates me onto the next painting in a series. "The Sun Series" has been my focus for the last four years. Mentally pulling out the images intuitively through a repetition of theme shapes, symbols and color choices makes each painting unique and individual. Working in a series helps me stay in the present and directs my creativity. I like to experiment, test and push the visions further to a new level of expression.
