Clonard Bunn Thomas
"My landscapes and abstracts express emotion through light, pattern and design in a panorama of radiant color relationships.
Watercolor is my first love, but working with collage papers in combination with experimental acrylics and inks is also exciting. I love to be surprised by my work. When the painting takes over and guides me to something completely different from what I had in mind, it is thrilling. Each painting is a challenge.
Before I begin a new painting. I think about my past work and decide where I want to go from where I left off mentally pulling out the ideas intuitively through repetition of theme shapes, symbols and color choices. Working in a series helps me stay in focus and directs my energies to one idea, experimenting and pushing the images further with each painting."
